About Kalam Dhari

Welcome to Kalam Dhari, where we believe that art belongs not just on walls, but in the rhythm of our daily lives. We are an art-driven brand with modern abstract art at its very core, transforming captivating brushstrokes and profound concepts into wearable everyday clothing. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to democratize art, making it more accessible, relatable, and intimately woven into your personal style.

We go beyond mere painting; our designs are applied on the fabric freehand using acrylics, creating a through-and-through art-driven brand where every thread tells a story and every brushstroke finds its place. This fusion elevates both the art and the textile, resulting in pieces that are tactile, vibrant, and undeniably unique.

At Kalam Dhari, we invite you to experience art in a new dimension, on your skin, in your movements, and as an extension of your identity.

About the Founder

It all started when Shikha, an architect by education and artist by destiny. Born in Mumbai, grew up in Chhattisgarh, immersed in a rich culture of art and handicrafts. Merging her passions for handlooms and art, she began painting on sarees, transforming traditional garments into unique canvases.

From friends and family to people she knew, word started spreading around to random strangers who appreciated art as much as she did. People got to know about the story behind the art right from the artist’s words, building trust and customer relations.

With bigger vision came bigger responsibility to upgrade and sustain the business. Shikha started learning the business ropes, expanded the products range with shirts etc, invested in brand identity and development strategy while also upgrading inventory and business infrastructure.

“My art is meant to enhance the fabric, not overpower it. There is an honest, raw beauty in the hand operated looms. Their textures resonate deeply with the dauntless and unfiltered brushstrokes. Together, they speak the same language of absolute authenticity.”
Love and Light,
Shikha Baheti Lohia
